Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, born August
26, 2002, is an American musician and singer. The release of
"Ransom," his 2019 single, allowed him to become a major star. His
debut mixtape, We Love You Tecca (2019), featured the single. It reached fourth
place in the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also featured the singles "Love
Me", "Did It Again" and "Did It Again". His first
studio album, Virgo World (2020) was released #10 on the Billboard 200 and
included the Billboard Hot 100-charting songs "Dolly" as well as
"When You Down". His second mixtape We Love You Tecca 2 was released
in August 2021. It included the songs "Repeat It", "Lot of
Me" and many more. Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, an Jamaican immigrant, was
born in Queens on August 26, 2002. He was born in Queens in Springfield
Gardens. However, he later moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island. Sharpe has
always dreamed of being able to play in the NBA when he was a kid, but at the
age of 12, Sharpe decided to pursue his profession in music. Sharpe graduated
from Lawrence High School. When Tecca was nine years old, he responded to his
musical passion through rapping with friends using his Xbox. One of their diss
tracks was uploaded to SoundCloud many years ago but has since been removed. In
the beginning that he wasn't making any plans to make music a profession and
instead , he envisioned becoming an NBA superstar. However, during middle
school, he resigned himself to basketball and considered taking music more
seriously. His first song that became well-known, "Tectri", was
recorded by Lil Gummybear in partnership with Lil Gummybear and released in the
early part of 2017. His other tracks comprise "Callin" as well as
"Tectri". The song that he topped the charts "Ransom,"
which was first uploaded to Cole Bennett's Lyrical lemonade YouTube channel on
May 22 of 2019, marked the beginning of the meteoric rise of Tecca. The track
ranked 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has had more than 90 million
Spotify plays and has more than 300 million YouTube views.
