Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was born September 7,
1987, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a stage
actor writer and director as is her mother, Sara Wood, is an actress as well as
acting coach. Her brothers who are older than her are Dana Wood, a musician and
Ira David Wood IV who also have been actors. Evan as well as her brothers
regularly performed in the Theatre In The Park in Raleigh. Her father started
it and is the director-executive. She was five when she auditioned to play the
character of Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994). She
relocated to Los Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in 1996 . She has enjoyed
success since then, appearing in a TV show, TV film and feature films. She's
appeared in Practical Magic (1998) and starred in the comedic S1m0ne (2002) as
Al Pacino's daughter, and then followed it up with Thirteen (2003) which
starred Holly Hunter. The role she played as Tracy in "Thirteen,"
which she was a part of the film, earned her a nomination for the Golden Globes
for Best Performance by an Actress: Drama and a nomination for the Screen
Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by female actors in an Leading
Role. She was the youngest actress to be nominated for a Leading Role award at
the time. She earned an award of a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for
"Outstanding Supporting Actress in the form of a Miniseries or Movie"
for her portrayal of Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011).
The same award was given to her role as Stephanie (Mickey Rourke's ex-wife) in
Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler (2008). Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III are
her parents. Younger sister to Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. Dancer. She is
a lover of dancing and sing, as well as rollblade and ride horses. She is black
belt in tae-kwon do. She stays in touch with many of her Once and Again (1999
castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
